Now, before I start, I need to make it clear that the photos below were taken STRAIGHT after the procedure, when my lips are fresh and full and swollen- after all, they have just been injected about 348398434983 times with filler!

If you have been following me for a while *fist bump*, you will know I have had filler injected into my lips quite a few times now! Read about my past experiences back in 2014 here and more recently, here. Now, I absolutely loooooooved my fillers with Holly at Flawless Cosmetics, but when I saw Faces by AKJ's work on Facebook, I just had to book in!

The shape I go for is full, plump and not at all natural looking! Blow-up doll, trout pout, whatever you wanna call it, is not to everyones taste, but I just LOVE a big juicy pair of lips! Faces by AKJ had the exact look I wanted so I managed to talk my colleague into it, snagged us both an appointment and we drove up after work. (I needed someone to hold my hand, ok!)

Amy used Intraline, and as a gal who has always had Juvaderm, I was intrigued to what the difference was. She explained that unlike Juvaderm, which has around 30% (I think that's what she said?!) of anaesthetic mixed in to help numb the pain, Intraline is 100% filler, so although it would hurt significantly more, it would last longer and 1ml would create a fuller pout (EXACTLY what I wanted!)

I won't lie, it hurt A LOT. Like, ridiculous amounts. Even though Amy slathered the entire bottom half of my face in numbing cream I could still feel every time the needle pierced my skin, and every 0.0000001ml of the filler being pumped in. NOT NICE. NOT COMFORTABLE. But SO WORTH IT. (Pain is beauty, right?!) And even though I was writhing around in the chair squealing like a little baby piglet, Amy was so calm and did her best to put me at ease. My only regret is not getting 1.5ml (or 2...hehehe)

1 week later
Since I had them done I have had soooooo many DM's, inboxes and messages about where I got them done, so that speaks for itself! (I'm just gonna ignore the fact my mum said my top lip looked like a rubber dinghy because she has zero taste.) In fact, I've already messaged her about booking an appointment for next month, so watch this space!

What I Got For Christmas: 2016

As much as people turn up their nose and say 'ugh I haaaaate it when people show off their Christmas presents, it's so bratty blah blahhhh' you just KNOW they are they first ones snooping through Instagram and Snapchat on Christmas Day to find out what everyone got. Aaaaaaaaalways the quiet ones. Anyway. Back to the point, I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Nobody has an excuse to be miserable, or argumentative or rude. If someone wants to upload a picture of a Pandora ring and a Michael Kors bag with the hashtag #boydonegood or #luckygirl, bloody let them! Let them have their moment and then get back to being your bitchy old self on Boxing Day or something.

Personally, I love seeing what everyone else got for Christmas! I much prefer the styled out flat lay photos from my favourite bloggers, as opposed to Lauren from down the road carefully positioning her can of deodorant and 3 for £9 Topshop socks around her GHD's and new Nike Free Runs to make the present stack look bigger, but hey! Great haul!

I was absolutely buzzing this year because I put so much thought into the gift for each of my family members, and it was a huge success! (no CK boxers or Lynx Africa here!) I got my Mum a GHD hairdryer- I have no idea why she wanted one so much to be fair cos her hair is about 3mm thick, but I guess now it will be bone dry in 8 seconds instead of 10. I got my Dad some fancy gin glasses from John Lewis, a huge bottle of gin from a gin festival I went to last year, some Ted Baker slippers, a cinnamon candle from Sheffield candle company at the Christmas markets and an enormous 3.5kg bag of fruit salad and blackjack sweets- to my mums horror (she's trying to make him lose weight LOL). I got my eldest brother Louis the Powerbeats 2 wireless Beats by Dre (headphones) and I got my other brother Callum a Nike tracksuit and some gourmet peanut butter- one was white chocolate flavour and one was chocolate brownie! (Not gonna lie I opened them both about an hour later 'to try' - soz Callum.)

And now on to myyyyyyy presents! I'm at the age where I can't just let my mum go AWOL in the Selfridges Beauty Hall because she would come back with glitter hair gel and blue eyeshadow or something, so I have to link her to the EXACT products I want. And my dad just has absolutely no idea, he just pays. ☺️

Morphe 350 palette in Koffee (hurry though- these always sell out so make sure you join the mailing list)

Louboutin 'Me Nude' lipstick from my best friend Sarah! It is so gorgeous I don't even wanna take it out the box. I just wanna hang it on the wall like the masterpiece it is.

YSL Touche Eclat gift set. This was a secret santa present from my friend Manda, and she did good! She also got me a cute candle with my initial on the front, a bottle of pink gin and a 'grow your own boyfriend'......Think my friends are trying to tell me something here.

MAC Cremesheen lipstick in 'Japanese Maple' (can you tell I like nudes?)

I also got money from my parents to go towards my savings, but let's be serious, I'm definitely going to book a holiday with it! (soz rents)

What did everyone else get? I know I'm posting this so late that you probably can't even remember, but link me to your Christmas prezzie posts! I love having a snoop.

#FOODANDFLOWERS Event with Dine at The Mansion, Leeds

I was pleasantly surprised last week when an email landed in my inbox to invite me to a food and flowers event at a huge stately home in Leeds, aptly named The Mansion. It explained that the evening would consist of a lavish surprise three course meal, and flower crown making with the ladies from Twisted Willow, a local florist. I thought the idea of combining the two sounded intriguing, and I'm not trying to show off or anything, but I did do my year 9 work experience at my auntie's florist, so I do know my peonies from my peace lily's. (#justsayin')

Anyway, I will get on to the night itself! I arrived late (shock) so the flower crown making was in full swing! I was given a wire, a huge bunch of flowers and foliage, and a massive helping hand from one of the florists to get me started. It was so fun- and really therapeutic!- making my crown, and I was sat amongst some lovely girls who I really got on with. Once I got going there was no stopping me, and I only went and bloody won the prize for the best crown!!!! (Potential next career move?!) My prize was a huge box of hand crafted chocolates by local chocolatiers Lauden- thanks guys!

After all the excitement of me winning *paints nails emoji*, it was time for the Ambassador's dinner! We were ushered out into the lobby where we had a chance to mingle with each other (my favourite part!) enjoy a cold glass of champagne (my second favourite part) and some seriously swanky canapés! The waiters were serving Venison Tartare on Chocolate Spätzle Discs, Ham Hock & Smoked Wensleydale Croquette with Apple Gel (in a smoking dome!) and Caprini Goats Cheese Cones with Tomato & Dill Concase, Fig & Balsamic Caviar. And yes I have copied and pasted everything that was served because WHO THE BLOODY HELL KNOWS WHAT A SPÄTZLE  IS?!?! I would say whatever it is it was yummy, but that was the only canapé I didn't actually try, as I'm not wild about raw red meat. But everything else was diviiiiine.

And that was just the tip of the iceberg! Shortly after, we were invited into the main dining area where the tables were decorated so beautifully and elegantly, with about 3239839 wine glasses (my kinda dining experience!) Because the menu was secret, we were served, and then the Head Chef came out and explained what it was- which I thought was a lovely touch! The starter was (again, hitting you with the copy & paste!) Crab & Saffron Risotto, Pan Fried Scallops & Tempura Soft Shell Crab. I don't think I have ever tried crab, but I am a huge fan of seafood and this was delicious! Each course was paired with a wine too, and that was equally as good.

The main- vegans look away now!- was Fallow Deer with Spiced Umbrian Lentils, Choucroute, Smoked Kale & Chocolate Jus. The chocolate jus complimented the venison perfectly, and the waiters came and poured each plate separately, which again was a a lovely touch, and really showed meticulous attention to detail!

Then the dessert... oh my WORD this was insane. Dark Chocolate & Rosemary Tart with Fennel Ice-Cream, Orange Sherbet & Baked White Chocolate. The chocolate dark was so dense and decadent- definitely up there with my top desserts EVER. Which may sound not too hard considering my current top dessert is a dried fig smothered with cashew butter but still. It was EXCELLENT. And if we weren't already on the verge of having to increase our belt loops to the next one up, we finished off with coffee and Lauden chocolates.

Hats, gloves, trousers (joke)- EVERYTHING off to the chef for an absolutely incredible dinner. And a huge thank you to Dine, Twisted Willow and The Mansion for hosting an exquisite evening!

I remember back in high school and college when I had my own ‘signature scent’. I would wear the same perfume religiously day in day out because a) I loved it, obviously and b) I was 17 and didn’t wanna spend £60 on a bottle of something else and end up hating it, so I stuck to one. Vera Wang – Princess.

It was only when I got into blogging and saw girls I followed raving about other scents that I actually branched out and tried something new, and finally understood the difference between a ‘daytime’ perfume and an ‘evening’ perfume. For example, I wouldn’t rock up to work at 8:30am on a Monday morning with YSL – Black Opium on cos it’s just TOO heavy. Unless I was planning to seduce my boss or something. (I’m not planning to seduce my boss, by the way)

Now I have quite a collection, with my favourite daytime scents; Marc Jacobs – Daisy and Honey, and my favourite evening scents; YSL – Black Opium (so I can do all the seducing I like) Giorgio Armani – Si (which is just the most delicious thing ever) and Diesel – Loverdose.

The Fragrance Shop have recently created the Discovery Club, which is perfect for anyone wanting to try out a new fragrance, without splurging on a full size bottle. I’ve been in department stores before where the shop assistants GLARE at you for even giving your wrist a little spritz with one of the testers on display, never mind actually asking for a sample! I used to work at John Lewis, so I know that almost every brand has sample sizes for customers to take away, but the assistants act like they’re coming out of their wages if anyone asks about them (ridiculous, I know!)

The box’s are packed with 10 sample size perfumes, all premium brands (no Charlie Red here!) Mine contained Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Paco Rabanne, Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and Agent Provocateur. Perfect for taking on nights out or weekends away! You can set up a subscription, which is an absolute STEAL at just £5 per quarter, or buy a one off box for £5. Each box also comes with a voucher for at least £5 each fragrance, should you wish to purchase the full size bottle. Interested? Get yours here: http://www.thefragranceshop.co.uk/discoveryclub.aspx
