MEET THE BLOGGER | 5 minutes with Victoria @ Victoria's Vintage

Since starting my own blog in 2012, I have always followed Victoria's Vintage. Although we have different taste in fashion, I am still intrested in every type of post she writes. From baking posts to photos of her adorable kitty to cosmetic reviews, and especially her competition wins (which are rediculous by the way!), combined with her regular, almost daily, posts, this is hands down one of my top five favourite blogs to read.
Introducing Victoria!

How did you get into blogging?
I started blogging when I was in my second year of uni, as I found I had quite a lot of spare time between studying. I had just discovered the world of blogging, so I decided to give it a go myself! I didn't really understand what I was doing to begin with, and just posted random photos (kind of like Pinterest!). But during my second year of uni I got into the swing of things more and discovered I even had followers!

How long have you had your blog for?

I started my blog in 2010, which seems like forever ago now! I took a few breaks away from blogging to begin with, but kept it consistent from 2012 onwards.

What is your favourite type of blog to write? Why?
My favourite post to write is probably outfit posts. Although it's more about the photos than the actual writing. I'm not a great writer so my posts tend to be quite short and include a lot of photos. But I like doing outfit posts because I enjoy dressing up (poser) and showing people my latest fashion bargains.

Do you have a favourite blog?
I have a few favourite blogs, and I like reading them because they are similar to mine, as they post such a wide range of blog topics, rather than sticking to just beauty/fashion. I like reading about baking/lifestyle/interior design posts too. My favourites are:http://milkbubbletea.blogspot.co.uk/ http://glambeautys.blogspot.co.uk/

What opportunities have you gained from blogging?
I've been so lucky to have had so many fab opportunities through blogging. I've received some amazing products to review recently, including a Kindle Fire, a proper treadmill, and some beautiful dresses. I've also been to some blogger meet up events and met up with other lovely bloggers throughout the UK.

One of the many products Victoria has recieved to review, c/o Bakers Toolkit
Have you made any friends through blogging?
I've met probably one of my best friends (cringe) through blogging! I met Terri (http://www.helloterrilowe.com/) in 'real life' over a year ago and we've become good friends ever since, and I often go to stay over her place for the weekend. Other lovelies include Tereza (http://www.cityscape-bliss.com/) and Charl (http://gingergirlsays.com/).

What advice would you give to anyone starting off blogging, or advice to those already writing a blog but looking to get more hits and followers?
I'd recommend everyone to join twitter and get involved in the blogger community by tweeting/commenting other bloggers. If any meet ups happen in your area you should pop along, don't be scared! When I first started blogging I didn't share my link anywhere and somehow readers still found me, I think a lot of traffic comes via Google (so make sure you read up about SEO tips to increase traffic). And just generally my advice would be to not copy what everyone else is doing, include what you like on your blog, and don't be embarassed about it (although I still am!).
